Gianni Lee presents his second solo exhibition, They Sat Back, They Let It Happen at The Dock Gallery, Los Angeles. In his newest collection of works, Lee details various motifs and narratives that explore the political and social climate of America.
Interpreted through the construct of slavery, these works challenge the viewer to define how this system of oppression evolves from past, present, and future.
Gianni Lee’s multimedia work combines materials including painting, drawing, photography, and print. He presented his inaugural solo-exhibition “Why Don’t You Hear Me?” as Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition Artist-in-Residence in 2017. His permanent installations are currently on view at The Freehold, Brooklyn and UGG Australia Store, San Francisco.
